Notice of Measure and Receipt of Ballot Title
by Stella Wilder
SUNDAY, AUGUST 7, 2022
YOUR BIRTHDAY by Stella Wilder
Born today, you are far more interested in
the way things were than the way they are or
might be, and this attention to the past is sure
to win you a great deal of respect and many
professional accolades -- if you are careful not
to ignore the present or the future entirely.
You must always remember that you live in
the here and now.
MONDAY, AUGUST 8
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) -- You’re going to
have to deal with someone in charge in order
to get a new idea up and running today when
a surprising obstacle appears.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) -- Competition
with a friendly rival is likely to heat up some
today, and you may find yourself trying to get
your bearings in a strange setting.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) -- What others
have done can be done by you as well today
-- but is that really how you can best fulfill a
need? Trust your instincts.
SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) -- Mental or
physical health may require some attention
today after you realize that a recent project
has taken more of a toll than expected.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) -- You
may not be willing to do or say what is
required early in the day, but later on, you’ll
understand just how important it is to do so.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) --
Someone comes up with a theory that you are
able to back almost immediately -- but soon
you may think that you have overlooked a key
point.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) -- You have
a clear view of what lies ahead, but your inter-
pretation of certain trends may lead you
astray temporarily. Get back on track.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) -- Don’t let
anyone get the best of you today by doing
something you cannot see. You must be fully
aware of all that goes on around you.
ARIES (March 21-April 19) -- It’s a good
time to decompress a bit, and you may want
to allow yourself to drift somewhat as you
take stock and consider your options.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20) -- Do what
you are asked without objection today; you
will make more progress than expected while
also impressing one of your superiors.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20) -- You may
find yourself allied with someone today
whose motives have been very different from
your own, but right now you are more closely
aligned.
CANCER (June 21-July 22) -- The last
thing you want to do today is repeat yourself,
so forge ahead with confidence when you are
given the chance to explore new territory.
MONDAY, AUGUST 8, 2022
YOUR BIRTHDAY by Stella Wilder
Born today, you are a serious-minded and
businesslike individual, and nothing frus-
trates you quite so much as wasting your time
and casual, meaningless conversation. You
would rather simply acknowledge another
person and move on, free to go about your
business, than stop and pass the time by
exchanging pleasantries, talking about the
weather or otherwise engaging in an encoun-
ter that -- as far as you are concerned -- will
get you nowhere. This can occasionally work
against you, but then how would you ever
know? The fact is that sometimes -- rarely, but
sometimes -- a chance encounter and pleas-
ant talk with someone could result in a new
and exciting opportunity for you.
TUESDAY, AUGUST 9
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) -- You may find a
certain social gathering too stressful today,
but while you do not have to stay for long, you
must surely make an appearance.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) -- Your expec-
tations may be outside the realm of the sen-
sible today. Look back at what’s happened in
recent days and reconsider.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) -- You’re not
likely to behave the same way in public as you
do in private today, but it’s not really some-
thing that you should give much thought.
SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) -- You must
keep certain things in mind today as you
move forward into new territory, though
those thoughts may not add up to much.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) -- You
needn’t be critical of someone’s efforts today.
Try to consider everyone’s point of view as
you adjust your own.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) -- Your
attempts at communicating with one who has
been distant for a while may not yield the
desired results today, but keep trying.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) -- You will
be grappling with an issue that has recently
come between you and a friend -- but take
care it doesn’t become all-consuming.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) -- What you
do with a partner will come to fruition far
sooner than anything you try on your own.
This partnership shines.
ARIES (March 21-April 19) -- You’re not
about to change your thinking on a key topic
without being presented with solid evidence
-- and that’s not likely to happen today.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20) -- It’s time for
you to make up your mind about something
that has been in play for a while. Others are
waiting to receive your approval.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20) -- You may
have to travel farther today than you had
planned, but you’ll make the decision to do so
eagerly because something fun awaits.
CANCER (June 21-July 22) -- You may be
growing tired of a situation that you’ve not
been able to change in any significant way. Is
today the day for you to disengage?
