LA GRANDE — The BlueMountaineers
will have their end-of-the-month dance
on Saturday, July 30, 6-9 p.m. at the Union
County Senior Center, 1504 N. Albany St.
Admission is $5, or free for ages 12
and younger. The evening includes a
fi nger food potluck.
COMMUNITY NIGHT OUT OFFERS

BAKER CITY — The annual Community
Night Out event is happening Tuesday,
Aug. 2, at Geiser-Pollman Park. A free din-
ner will be served, starting at 5 p.m. Every
person through the food line receives
one free raffl e ticket. Extra tickets can be
purchased for $1 each, $5 for seven, $10
for 15 or $20 for 35.
Frank Carlson will provide live music
for the evening.
Community Night Out is organized by
the Baker City Police Department, Baker
City Events and Baker City Lions Club. It
is co-sponsored by Oregon Trail Electric
Co-op. The meal is provided by Oregon
Trail Restaurant, which provides food at a
discount, and Safeway.

Bowling Day event, Desert Lanes Family
Fun Center is off ering people an oppor-
tunity to bowl for free. The event, which
coincides with a parking lot sale, is
Saturday, Aug. 6.
Located at 1545 N. First St., the sale
runs from 8 a.m. to noon. People can rent
space ($25) to sell their wares — fees
will go to support local junior scholarship
programs.
And families can register to bowl in
90-minute time slots between 11 a.m. and
5 p.m. (reservations required). The only cost
is shoe rental, if you don’t have your own.
