Magazine MILTON-FREEWATER — This week- end’s music festival is new, but also old. It’s roots are the Muddy Frogwater Festival, which was traditionally held the third weekend in August in Milton- Freewater. Now the music-fi lled event, called Weekend @ the Blues, is moving to July to coincide with the Pro West @ the Pos- se Rodeo. Although the two events are sep- arate, and held at diff erent places, it made sense to off er one activity-fi lled weekend. “We’re kind of piggybacking on each other,” said Kim Munk, who is helping organize the music festival. The music festival, also in the park, gets going that day with Last Call at 5:30 p.m. followed by Stompin’ Ground from 8-10 p.m. On Saturday, July 30, vendors open at 9 a.m., and the Weekend @ The Blues parade starts at 11 a.m. on North Main Street. Entertainment kicks off at noon with Folkloreico Estrella de Mexico. Afternoon music features: • 1 p.m.: Del Norte • 3 p.m.: Feedback • 5 p.m.: The Wasteland Kings • 8 p.m.: Coyote Kings Admission is free to the music festival. Another feature of the weekend are city-wide yard sales July 29, 30 and 31. Maps will be available and can be found online at www.weekendattheblues.com. Grounds, 84581 Highway 11.
