Amid the dozens of out- standing classic cars one vehicle stood out from the rest and was awarded the Best of Show trophy made by Matt Babbs of La Grande, according to a press release. The win- ning car: a 1933 copper and champagne Ford Roadster owned by Wally and Judy Belt, of Salem. Mary Ann Miesner, a member of the Timber Cruisers, said the Belts have owned several winning cars. According to Miesner, Judy said this is the last car they will purchase, but Wally just smiled. Deputies arrested Mariam Everson Collard, 22, for two counts of felon in possession of a fi rearm, felon in possession of a restricted weapon, unlawful possession of a fi rearm and carrying a concealed weapon. Dekker Dane Adams Jacqueline “Jackie” Preston December 3, 2008 - July 13, 2022 September 1, 1950 - July 11, 2022 Dekker Dane Adams, 13, of La Grande, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at his residence. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the Imbler High School. Dekker was born on Dec. 3, 2008, in La Grande, Oregon, to Dustan and Megan (Voigt) Adams. Dekker lived in Island City, Oregon, until he moved to his “forever” home on Orchard Road at the age of 7. He attended Heidi Ho Preschool and Imbler Elementary and Junior High School. Dekker enjoyed working with his grandparents on the family ranch anytime he got the chance. He was an Imbler FFA Greenhand member. Dekker competed at the Oregon State FFA convention and won his division in the Agriscience Fair Program. Dekker was born to be a farmer and a rancher. He loved all aspects of agriculture and he loved the outdoors, including deer and elk hunting with his dad. He played junior high basketball and ran track for the Imbler Junior High. Dekker was involved in the Imbler FFA, and Imbler Pitchfork Gang 4-H Club. He was passionate about his 4-H projects and raised and sold four Imbler 4-H steers. Dekker is survived by his parents, Dustan and Megan (Voigt) Adams, and his siblings, Kinley and Kahler Adams, of La Grande, Oregon; grandparents, Shannon and Wanda Voigt, Brian Adams and Donita Griffith; and aunts and uncles, Ben and Mindy Stinnett, Levi and Shae Voigt, Jay and Kristen Adams, Casey and Erika Adams and Rian Adams. Jacqueline Preston, age 71, died Monday, July 11, 2022, at her home in Union. A service was held Saturday, July 16, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Union. Jackie was born on Sept. 1, 1950, in La Grande, the daughter of LeRoy Junior “Bill” and Dianne Mary (Carlgen) Carlyle. They eventually moved to Portland, where Jackie graduated with the Wilson High School class of 1968. She later returned to the Grande Ronde Valley and worked for the Union Market, The Hut Cafe and Community Connection. She worked many years as a housekeeper for the Grande Ronde Retirement Residence, where she really enjoyed the interaction with the residents and staff. Jackie was active in the Union Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and really enjoyed family history. She also enjoyed participating in the Union County Historical Society and worked for a time at the Union County Museum. Jackie liked gardening, cooking, sewing, photography and especially spending time with family. Surviving family include her children, Benjamin Witten, Andrew Witten of Union, Margaret Hetterley of La Grande and LaRee Smith of Cove; several grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; sister, Jennifer Jones of Mason, Ohio; brother, Randolf Carlyle of Soldotna, Alaska; and other relatives. Besides her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Witten; a daughter, Katharine Witten; and brothers, Bill Carlyle and Robert Williams. Tiffany Marie Girrard March 1, 1998 - July 14, 2022 Tiffany Marie Girrard, 24, of La Grande, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at her residence. A Rosary will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 1:30 p.m., and a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Tiffany was born on March 1, 1998, in La Grande, Oregon, to Brian and Juliet (Catolong) Girrard. She attended schools in La Grande where she was an honor roll student, and graduated from Treasure Valley Community College with a degree as a medical assistant. Tiffany was employed by Grande Ronde Hospital. Tiffany enjoyed all kinds of arts and crafts. She was very talented and loved to draw and paint. She also enjoyed baking and playing soccer and basketball. Her favorite pastime was going shopping with her mom and friends. Tiffany is survived by her parents, Brian and Juliet (Catolong) Girrard of La Grande, Oregon; grandfather, Steve Girrard of Ellensburg, Washington; and uncles, Ken (Patty) Girrard of Ellensburg, Washington, and Dave Girrard of La Grande, Oregon. She is also survived by her grandmother, Felonila Restauro; uncle, Jeffrey Restauro; aunt, Michelle Restauro; and cousins, Jefferson Restauro, Meljef Restauro and Lawrence Restauro - all from the Philippines. Dianne Delight (Bartsch) Hefner November 25, 1941 - July 12, 2022 Dianne Delight Bartsch Hefner, 80, of Union, died Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at her home near Union. Private interment will be with her father at the Union Victorian Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels- Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center of La Grande. Dianne Delight was born on Nov. 25, 1941, in Silverton to Harold and Myrtle (Sitz) Bartsch. She grew up in Pendleton, where she graduated with the class of 1960. She loved to ride horses and was a princess on the Pendleton Round-Up Court. In 1969 the family moved to Medical Springs, where they managed a ranch. In 1976, Dianne moved to Union, where she became very involved in the Eastern Oregon Livestock Show. She spent many long hours working in the kitchen. In her later years she enjoyed playing bingo at the Veterans of Foreign Wars and visiting with her friends. Surviving relatives include her daughter, Wendy Langford and her husband, Rob, of Union; son, Jeff McClaskey of Touchet, Washington; two grandchildren, Kaci George and Kyle Langford both of Union; and three great-grandchildren.
