“Ear Biscuits” podcast by Link Neal
and Rhett McLaughlin is my go-to back-
ground noise at the moment.
Neal and McLaughlin are the creators
of the internet show “Good Mythical
Morning,” which is a similar, less serious
series that I’ve been watching since
middle school. In the podcast, which
has more than 300 episodes, they dis-
cuss a wide variety of topics, from the
years they spent in college and as mis-
sionaries to the theories on the future
of automation and humanity and tips for
escaping pyramid schemes.
They take inspiration from Reddit
threads, listener call-ins, their own chil-
dren’s ideas and more. Some episodes
are more personal and philosophical
than others.
One episode features Matthew
McConaughey, where they discuss how
Spotify
to live a life worth living. In another, Neal
advises McLaughlin on how to handle
the departure of his oldest child to col-
lege, having just had his eldest daughter
move to school himself.
Some, though, are shorter dis-
cussions about their top 10 favorite
movies, quarantine activities such as
board games and how they managed to
survive their teen years without cell-
phones.
No matter the topic, the pair ap-
proaches each episode with humor and
wit, a refreshing attitude in podcasting. I
encourage you to listen: there is truly an
episode for everybody.
