In honor of Betty White, who recently
passed away just shy of her 100th birthday,
Hulu offers the only season of this 1992-
93 CBS comedy that catches up with
former Golden Girls Rose, Blanche and
Sophia (White, Rue McClanahan, Estelle
Getty), now transplanted in South Beach
following the remarriage of ex-housemate
Dorothy (former cast member Bea Arthur),
where they run an art deco hotel called the
Golden Palace.
“Movie: I’m Your Man”
From Germany and director Maria
Schrader (“Love Life”) comes this 2021
romantic comedy about Alma (Maren
Eggert, “Giraffe”), a woman who agrees
to take part in a study in which she is
required to live with Tom (Dan Stevens,
“The Guest”), a humanoid robot designed
to be the perfect life partner for her.
Sandra Huller also stars.

“Movie: Stop and Go”
From director Ben Lewin (“The Catcher
Was A Spy”) comes this 2020 romantic
comedy that follows Millie (Danielle
Macdonald, “Patti Cake$”), a brilliant
young fund manager who quits her job
and her relationship with her longtime
boyfriend to fulfill her dream of becoming
an opera singer — in the Scottish
Highlands. Joanna Lumley and Hugh
Skinner are also in the cast.
Mallory Everton (“Studio C,”
“Freelancers”) co-directed, co-wrote and
co-stars in this 2021 comedy that casts
her and co-writer Whitney Call (“Studio
C”) as two rudderless sisters who brave
a cross-country road trip to rescue their
grandmother from a COVID outbreak
at her nursing home. Stephen Meek
(“Studio C”), Call’s husband and co-
director of the film, also stars.
