A GRANDE — Art Center East
is launching Little Pinecones
Book Club, a new free activity for
children age 5 and younger. The
club will meet once a month at
ACE, 1006 Penn Ave., for a story
followed by an art-making activity
based on the month’s book.
The fi rst meeting is Friday, Jan.
14, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Children
must be accompanied by a parent
or guardian.
Each book relates to a work
of art displayed in one of ACE’s
current exhibits. The chosen
book might connect to the art-
work through color, symbolism,
medium, shape, subject matter
or something else entirely. Little
Pinecones Book Club partici-
pants will read the book together,
seated in front of the work of
art, and discuss what they see,
what they like and more. Then the
book club will gather downstairs
in an art studio to make their
works of art.
