“The Lucy Show”
Lucille Ball reteamed with her “I Love
Lucy” collaborators Bob Carroll Jr.,
Madelyn Davis, Bob Schiller and Bob
Weiskopf to create this 1962-68 sitcom
follow-up in which she stars as Lucy
Carmichael, a scheming widow with two
kids, a long-suffering best friend (Vivian
Vance, also from the previous series) and a
cantankerous boss (Gale Gordon).
“The Roy Rogers Show”
The inaugural round of this Western series
originally broadcast on NBC from 1951 to
1957 stars Rogers and wife Dale Evans as
a ranch owner and a cafe proprietor in an
1800s Old West town that apparently had
all the conveniences — cars, telephones,
electric lights — of the 20th century.
Rogers’ beloved horse Trigger and German
shepherd Bullet the Wonder Dog headed
the nonhuman cast.
“Movie: The Theory of
Everything”
Eddie Redmayne won an Oscar for his
superb performance as astrophysicist
Stephen Hawking in this 2014 biopic,
which charts Hawking’s relationship
with then-wife Jane (Felicity Jones).
Both are tested sorely when Stephen is
diagnosed with ALS, but even as his body
fails, he applies himself even more to
his work, becoming a global icon for his
accomplishments against very visible odds.

“Movie: Lady of the Manor”
Actor Justin Long and his brother Christian
made their directorial debuts with this 2021
buddy comedy about a pot-smoking slacker
(Melanie Lynskey, “Yellowjackets”) who gets
a job as a tour guide at a historic Savannah,
Ga., mansion and winds up becoming
friends with the ghost of a 19th century
resident (Judy Greer, “The Descendants”).
Justin Long, Ryan Phillippe, Luis Guzman,
and Patrick Duffy also star.
