AKER CITY — For the second year in a row, the windows of downtown busi- nesses have transformed into a gingerbread wonderland. In 2020, with the cancella- tion of its annual Holiday Homes Tour, CASA of Eastern Oregon recruited volunteers to craft gingerbread creations to display in business windows. CASA created a walking tour map, and also encouraged people to shop locally while downtown. “We are so appreciative to our volunteers who spent so much time building their houses,” said Mary Collard, CASA executive director. “We hope everyone will enjoy this special touch of Christmas cheer all month long.” This year’s theme is Santa’s Village. A map of the locations is available outside the CASA offi ce at 2024 Main St. Since CASA cannot hold the homes tour — a fundraiser for the Your Adventure Awaits! Thousands of titles Lisa Britton/Go!
