so inspired by a magazine ar-
ticle on the Brooklyn night club
scene that he made a movie
about it. That movie, “Saturday
Night Fever,” became nothing
less than a cultural touchstone
for 1977, turning actor John
Travolta into a global superstar
in the process. The platinum-
selling soundtrack also gave
a shot of adrenaline to disco,
thanks to four number-one hits
from the Bee Gees.
