4 Thursday, June 17, 2021 GO! magazine — A&E in Northeast Oregon A day of fun in Buffalo Bill and Dr. Jo return Eagle Valley ■ Celebrate community Saturday, June 19 RICHLAND — This year’s version of Eagle Valley Day on Saturday, June 19, will be themed “Built in America.” The goal is to celebrate commu- nity. “Everyone had rough year with COVID and so many things were postponed or cancelled. We need to build a lot of things back up and the best way we as a community can do that is by working together,” said Tammy Graven. All events will be Eagle Valley Grange Community Park. The day begins at 8 a.m. with Ralph Graven hosting “Coffee and Doughnuts with the Grange Master.” Donations will be accepted all proceeds going to purchase new trees for the park. “We have a few areas that could really do with some trees,” Tammy said. The donation jar will be avail- able throughout the day. Ken and Colleen Booth are orga- nizing the parade, which begins at 10 a.m. This year’s even twill not have a car show, but those with vintage cars, tractors or any type of vehicle — motorized or not — is welcome to join the parade. Entries are encouraged to stop at the park so community members can tour through the park entries. “There will be a designated space for them,” Colleen Booth said. There is no pre-registration for the parade. Entries can starting lining up at 9 a.m. by the Richland Library. For more information about the parade, call Colleen and Ken at 541-893-3050. The Eagle Valley Fire Depart- ment is in charge of kid’s games — which might involve water so bring a towel. Art in the Park still has room for more vendors. Those who would like to set up a table can call Abby Graven at 541-519-8868. There is no charge. The Grange will be hosting a yard sale table and proceeds will go toward park maintenance expenses. “We have hired the FFA kids to mow and keep it trimmed and groomed,” said Tammy. The pie contest will be back and entries need to be at the Eagle Valley Grange kitchen by noon on Saturday. Please bake two pies — one for the auction and one for the judges to taste. There will be fi rst, second and third place winners and there will be cash prizes. The treats will be auctioned by Mib Dailey. It’s not necessary to enter the contest — pies just for the auction are welcome, too. The Grange kitchen will start serving food at 11 a.m., includ- ing barbeque beef sandwiches, hot dogs, and fresh strawberry shortcake. Eagle Valley’s own band “The Lo- cals” will be playing for the one-day festival. Listeners are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. BAKER CITY — Hear tales of the Oregon Trail this weekend with performances by Buffalo Bill Boycott and Dr. Jo. The duo can be found at the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center (NHOTIC) from June 18-20. Their daily shows are at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. On Saturday, June 19, the pair will come into town to perform at the Powder River Pavilion in Geiser-Pollman Park, starting at 5 p.m. The evening show is sponsored by NHOTIC and Trail Tenders. It is free and open to the public. Saturday evening shows are planned for July 3, July 10, July 24, Aug. 7, Aug. 14, Aug. 28, and Sept. 4.
