6 Thursday, May 27, 2021 GO! magazine — A&E in Northeast Oregon Artwork sought for annual JOSEPH — The Josephy Center for Arts and Culture invites artists to submit original works of art for inclusion in the 39th annual Wal- lowa Valley Festival of Arts. The festival is the largest juried fi ne art exhibition in Eastern Oregon, featuring representational realism as well as contemporary art from the Pacifi c Northwest and beyond. This year’s festival — which includes an opening reception, a fi ne art show, a quick draw, a si- lent auction, the Joseph Gallery Walk, and live music — will be Dennis DeHart, held Sept. 17-19. this year’s festival judge Leading up to the weekend, the Josephy Center is offering art workshops for local and visiting artists as well as a En Plein Air Competition which will begin on Saturday, Sept. 11 and end Friday, Sept. 17. The festivities will wrap up with a Sunday evening music concert held at the Josephy Center. According to a press release, the Wallowa Valley Festival of Arts “refl ects the beauty, culture and traditions of the region through its arts and artists. Exhibition space is limited, so jurors will select pieces that are most appropriate for the venue and diverse audience. The categories are as follows: Photography Any photograph that begins with the capture of the image through lens, including digitally-altered photography Sculpture Any three-dimensional work in wood, clay, stone, bronze, or other metal Applications The application deadline is Aug. 1, 2021. All artwork MUST be sub- mitted through the following online site: callforentry.org. Acceptance emails will be sent between August 9-13th.
