4 Thursday, May 27, 2021 GO! magazine — A&E in Northeast Oregon Ison House presents ‘Concerts on the Lawn’ ■ ■ Eric ‘Sugar’ Larsen kicks off the summer concert series on Saturday, June 5 cert. Lavery said they are selling a number that is under capacity for the space to avoid cancellation due to changing state guidelines. (However, if an event is cancelled tickets will be refunded.) By Lisa Britton Go! Magazine BAKER CITY — Twila Lavery is ready for some live music, and she suspects other people are, too. “I know people are anxious to get out and do something,” she said. Lavery owns The Ison House Bed and Brew in Baker City with John Coop. This summer they are welcom- ing seven bands for a summer series of “Concerts on the Lawn.” “Five are tribute bands,” she said. This series was inspired, she said, by the Eastern Oregon Trib- ute Fest that was held for several years in Baker City. Lavery spoke with a few of the bands at that event, and a few — including “Petty Fever” — are coming back to Baker City. “We’re excited to see these bands too,” she said. And after 2020’s event cancella- tions, Lavery wanted to be quick about booking bands who are ramping up for a tour season. “We didn’t want to stall,” she said. The bands vary in types of music, from blues and country to a Metal- lica tribute. Contributed photo Eric “Sugar” Larsen plays June 5 at The Ison House. Lavery is especially looking forward to the Van Halen tribute band “Unchained.” “I’m a huge Eddie Van Halen fan,” she said.
