From director Sam Pollard (“Sammy
Davis Jr.: I’ve Gotta Be Me,” “Black Art:
In the Absence of Light”) comes this
compelling 2020 documentary that draws
from information obtained from newly
declassified documents and archival footage
to tell the story of the U.S. government’s
surveillance and harassment of civil rights
leader Martin Luther King Jr.
Anna Kerrigan (“Five Days Gone”) wrote
and directed this heartfelt 2020 family
drama that casts Steve Zahn (“That Thing
You Do!”) as Troy, a troubled Montana
man who takes his trans son off into the
wilderness when his mother (Jillian Bell,
“Bless the Harts”) refuses to recognize the
child’s sexual identity. Sasha Knight, Ann
Dowd and Gary Farmer also star.
First-time documentarian Lance
Oppenheim takes viewers inside the largest
retirement community, The Villages in
Central Florida, to see how its 100,000-
plus well-off Baby Boomer residents are
living out their golden years in this prefab,
palm-tree-lined fantasyland for the aged
located about an hour north of Walt
Disney World.
This animated series for adults follows
the adventures of the megalomaniacal
supervillain M.O.D.O.K. (short for
Mental Organism Designed Only for
Killing), who after years of failure in his
quest for world domination finds his
professional and personal lives in ruins.
Patton Oswalt voices the title character,
with Melissa Fumero (“Brooklyn Nine-
Nine”), Ben Schwartz and Wendi
McLendon-Covey also lending their vocal
talents. (ORIGINAL)
