Get ready for summer —
festivals and fairs return
UNION COUNTY — So far,
word has reached GO! Magazine
that the following Union County
events are planning to go ahead
with this summer’s events — of
course, it will depend on the state
of the COVID-19 pandemic. The
show must go on, but only if it is
safe to do so.
• Eastern Oregon Livestock
Show, Union, June 10-13
• Elgin Riverfest, June 19
• Fourth of July Fireworks,
Union, July 4
• Elgin Stampede, July 7-10
• North Powder Huckleberry
Festival, July 31
• Union County Fair, La
Grande, Aug. 4-7
• Grassroots Festival, Union,
Aug. 14
• Eastern Oregon Beer Festi-
val, La Grande, Aug. 14
• Cove Cherry Fair, Aug. 21
Sadly, Hog Wild Days will not
happen this June, for the second
year in a row, due to concerns
about enforcing public safety
guidelines at the well-attended
event. The piggy train will ride
again — we hope.
GO! will update the list as sum-
mer nears. If you have news on
events, please let us know.
