What’s Available NOW On
“Giada’s Holiday Handbook”
The Food Network mainstay offers
up creative, fun and relatively simple
entertaining ideas for different holidays
and special occasions in the first four
seasons of this cablenet series. In each
episode, she presents recipes and tips
for making themed party favors for
guests, be it at a Thanksgiving meal or
a Yuletide bash, along with ideas for
music and decor pairings.
“Movie: Braking for Whales”
“Tia Mowry at Home”
Writer/director Sean McEwen (“The
Dougherty Gang”) teamed with wife
Tammin Sursok (“Pretty Little Liars”)
to make this 2020 dramedy about
estranged siblings (Sursok, who co-
wrote the script, and Tom Felton, the
“Harry Potter” movies) who must
come together on a road trip to satisfy
their deceased mother’s absurd final
wish, that her ashes be disposed of in
the body of a whale.
“Sister, Sister” actress Tia Mowry-
Hardrict shows off her chops in the
kitchen in this 2015-17 unscripted series
that aired on the Cooking Channel,
which shows her in her everyday life as
a wife, mother and thespian, but mainly
preparing sumptuous meals for her
family and friends. Guest stars including
actresses Kelly Rowland, Wendy Raquel
Robinson and the late Naya Rivera
make appearances.
“Movie: Bombshell”
Charlize Theron and Margot Robbie
reaped a bonanza of awards season love
for their performances — as Fox News
colleagues Megyn Kelly and Kayla
Pospisil — in Jay Roach’s 2019 drama
that chronicles how several women at
that cable news outlet teamed up to
expose executive Roger Ailes (John
Lithgow) for sexual harassment. Nicole
Kidman and Kate McKinnon also star.
