NOTICE of BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETINGS
Urban Renewal District
CITY of LA GRANDE
and
City of La Grande General, Enterprise, and Special Funds
A public meeting of the Budget Committee of the City of La Grande,
Union County, State of Oregon to discuss the budget for the Fis-
cal Year July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021, will be held via electronic
communication due to Coronavirus social distancing requirements.
The City facilities are currently closed to the public and meetings are
being held electronically. This Budget Committee meeting will take
place beginning on Monday, April 27, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall,
1000 Adams Avenue, to begin deliberations in connection with the
proposed Urban Renewal District (URD) Fiscal Year Budget effec-
tive July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021. The purpose of this meeting is
to receive the Budget Message and to receive public comments and
consider approval of the proposed Urban Renewal District Budget.
Immediately following Urban Renewal Budget Committee meeting
to consider the Urban Renewal District Budget, the City’s Budget
Committee will convene a separate meeting to receive the Budget
Message and begin deliberations in connection with the City’s Gen-
eral, Enterprise, and Special Funds budgets effective July 1, 2020,
to June 30, 2021. This meeting will be continued on Tuesday, April
28, 2020, at 6:00 p.m.
The meetings will be available for viewing via the City’s scheduled
Charter Communications channel 180 beginning at 6:00 pm on each
day of the scheduled meetings on the La Grande Alive website at
https://lagrandealive.tv/city-events/ or on the Eastern Oregon Alive.

Any person may listen to and/or participate with questions as de-
scribed below. It is strongly recommended that the public submit
comments or questions in writing in advance of the meeting. Writ-
ten comments for both the URD and City’s General, Enterprise, and
Special Funds Budgets received by 5:00 p.m. on April 24, 2020, will
be read during the public comment section of the respective meet-
ings. Comments on Urban Renewal will be heard on April 27, 2020.
Comments on the City’s General, Enterprise, and Special Funds
budgets will be heard on April 28, 2020.
Comments can also be made by phone on a scheduled basis during
the public comment section of the meetings. Comments, both writ-
ten and phone in, will be subject to a three-minute limit per communi-
ty member. To schedule public comment using the phone in option,
please provide your name, phone number and address with the City
via phone message at 541-962-1309 or email to rstrope@cityofla
grande.org. You will be called during the public comments section of
the meeting. Public comment must be scheduled no later than 5:00
p.m. on April 24, 2020, for both Budget Hearings.
Any person who is unable to provide written comments or to phone
in, may provide comments to the Budget Committee during the
meetings using electronic methods at City Hall during the public
comment portion of the meetings. Please note that space will be
limited to comply with the Governor’s Executive Orders regarding
social distancing and gatherings. All members of the Budget Com-
mittee will be participating electronically and will not be physically
present in City Hall.
