“Movie: Cantinflas”
The prolific Mexican comedian/producer/
writer/singer best known for his role of
Passepartout in “Around the World in 80
Days” is the subject of this 2014 biopic
from director Sebastian del Amo (“The
Mongolian Conspiracy”), which puts
Óscar Jaenada (“Loving Pablo”) in the title
role. Michael Imperioli (“The Sopranos”),
Bárbara Mori (“Inspiracion”) and Adrian
Herrera (“The Little Couple”) are also in
the cast.

“Movie: Night of the Living
Dead: Resurrection”
From Great Britain comes this 2012
horror movie about a family struggling to
survive when the dead rise during a zombie
apocalypse. Sule Rimi, Kathy Saxondale,
Lee Bane, Richard Goss and Mel Stevens
head the cast of unknowns for director
James Plumb (“Silent Night, Bloody
Night: The Homecoming”).
This 2012 melodrama stays true to its
title, though there’s a bit more to it. Sam
Worthington plays the man perched on
a New York ledge, an ex-cop who’s the
prime suspect in a diamond theft. As his
precarious position draws the attention
of the media and a police negotiator
(Elizabeth Banks), his brother (Jamie Bell)
works across the street on a plan to clear
his name and expose the true culprits. Kyra
Sedgwick, Ed Harris and Edward Burns
also star.

“Movie: A Good Old
Fashioned Orgy”
The title indeed describes the central
event in this comedy, with Jason Sudeikis
(“Saturday Night Live”) heading the cast as
a fellow whose legendary summer parties
are on the verge of ending, for a variety of
reasons. He decides to stage a final pull-
out-all-stops gathering, but he has trouble
getting the usual attendees to commit
to return. The acting ensemble includes
Sudekis’ former “SNL” crony Will Forte
as well as Leslie Bibb, Lake Bell and Tyler
Labine.
