South Fork Grange
partners with
Josephy Center
■ Grange will offer classes for
adults and youth each month
LOSTINE — The Josephy
Center is now partnering with the
South Fork Grange in Lostine.
The two agencies will be working
together to introduce monthly art
classes for adults and children at
the grange throughout 2020.
June Colony, South Fork Grange
president, came up with the idea.
“We want the South Fork Grange
to be a gathering place for locals,
and I knew the Josephy Center
could help us bring art classes here
to enrich our day-to-day experi-
ences,” she said.
June and Cheryl North Cough-
lan from the Josephy Center came
up with themes for the classes.
“We thought each month we’d
pick a topic that would be interest-
ing to learn, create and read about,”
Cheryl said.
February’s theme is birds. March
will be women’s month, and April
will be timber. The February
classes will feature felted birds. In
March Nancy Clarke will teach
printmaking with women as the
subject matter, and in April Ralph
Anderson will teach everyone how
to whittle a functional piece, such
as a spoon.
Adult classes are on the second
Tuesday of the month. Art students
are welcome to come early for the
senior meal served at the grange
on Tuesdays.
Youth classes will be taught
on the third Friday of the month.
There will be a class for ages 5-9,
taught by Teresa Henke, from
11-11:45 a.m. A class for ages 10-14
is from 1-2 p.m., taught by Anna
Vogel.
Adult classes are $10, and youth
classes are $7. Scholarships are
available upon request.

ister, go to www.josephy.org/classes
