CROSSROADS Sandra Ford will showcase more than 90 oil paintings at Crossroads Carnegie Art Center, 2020 Auburn Ave., in her show titled “Sandra Ford — Regional Paintings.” The opening reception starts at 5:30 p.m. Friday and includes an artist’s talk. D’Club L’Evéque will provide music, and visitors to the show will be entered in a drawing for a gift certifi cate to Latitude 45. The Morrison Student Gallery will feature artwork from Eastern Oregon Head Start. Originally from Southern California, Ford now lives in Baker City. She will be presenting her architectural oil paintings that capture small-town America. “Ford pulls you into familiar ter- ritory to tell a stranger’s story,” ac- cording to a press release. “The lack of inhabitants gives (these paint- ings) a sense of eerie lonesome, and the only life comes from the light captured by Ford’s paintbrush. Her straightforward composition challenges the viewer to take in the unknown scenery as if to be a stranger in unfamiliar territory. “Farmhouse in Tuscany” is part of Ivy Wreden’s display at the Royal Artisan in February. Sandra Ford’s “Allison’s House”is among her regional paintings shown at Crossroads Art Center. CHURCHILL HALL PASS GALLERY During First Friday, the Churchill’s Hall Pass Gallery will display 10 images that will be included in the “Story Marks” event Feb. 8, hosted by Baker City Chris- tian Women and StoneCroft, at Churchill. “Story Marks” features local women and the stories behind their tattoos. Photographers for the project were Jen Long, Shannon Regan,and Joyclynn Potter. For First Friday, Churchill will also highlight the artwork of Sherri Linnemeyer, Brigid and Blake Musselman, Casey Hallas, Tom Novak, Corrine Vegter and Brian Vegter. BRODERICK GALLERY Broderick Gallery will feature the works of Crawfurd Adamson from 5-9 p.m. Friday. The gallery is located at 1940 Valley Ave. Crawfurd was born in Edin- burgh, Scotland, in 1953. He stud- ied at Duncan of Jordanstone Col- lege of Art, Dundee, and graduated in 1976. He’s exhibited regularly at the Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh and Jill George Gallery in London since 1987.
