and one to end it with just
more than eight minutes
remaining — and the No.
11 Eastern Oregon women’s
soccer team secured a 2-1
double overtime win at
Rocky Mountain College
Friday in Cascade Collegiate
Conference play in Billings,
Montana.
Farrington’s sixth goal
gave the Mountaineers the
early lead, and her team-
leading seventh in the
second extra session off a
pass from Mackinley Gregus
gave EOU the win in a game
it won despite not having two
of its regular starters, Nan
Kiebert and Josee Bassett.
The early lead held until
Lauryn Gamache scored for
Rocky Mountain in the 42nd
minute.
EOU won despite being
outshot 17-12. Cydni Cottrell
recorded six saves, including
stopping two would-be game
winners in the fi rst overtime
session.
The Mountaineers (9-1-2
overall, 6-1-1 CCC) host
CCC-leading Northwest
(Washington) Friday.

Eastern Oregon scored in
less than a minute and led at
halftime, but the second half
belonged to Rocky Moun-
tain College, which scored
the fi nal four goals for a 4-1
win over the Mountaineers
Friday in Cascade Collegiate
Conference play in Billings,
Montana.
Elvis Pavon gave EOU
the lead just 42 seconds into
the match, and the margin
held until early in the second
half, when the Battlin’ Bears
scored twice in 3-0 seconds
and three goals in less than
four minutes to take a 3-1
lead. Pablo Ferreira assisted
two of the goals and scored
the middle goal that gave
RMC the lead for good.
EOU goalkeeper Max Rose
had three saves, two of which
came in the fi rst half to keep
EOU ahead.
On Sunday, the Moun-
taineers ended a four-match
losing streak with a 6-0 road
win over Walla Walla.
Eastern needed less than
nine minutes to get on the
board, taking the early lead on
a goal by Erik Mattice, then
broke the game open with two
goals in the fi nal 65 seconds
of the fi rst half, as Joaquin
Bermejillo and Felipe Madero
scored to push the margin to
3-0 at the half. Javier Moran
added two second-half goals
around a Calvin Mitchell goal
for the fi nal margin.
Eastern blistered Walla
Walla with 36 shots, includ-
ing 19 on goal. Max Rose
turned away the only shot
attempt managed by the
Wolves.
EOU (5-8-1 overall, 3-6
CCC) hosts Northwest
(Washington) Friday.

led the No. 23 Eastern Or-
egon women’s cross country
team to a third-place fi nish
at the Warner Pacifi c XC
Classic Saturday in Portland.
Boals came in ninth with
a time of 19:04.6 to pace the
Mountaineers, who scored
80 points to fi nish behind
College of Idaho (32) and
Portland (58). She was one of
two EOU runners in the top
20, with Michelle Herbes fol-
lowing in 18th in 19:31.1.
The rest of EOU’s run-
ners fi nished in a close pack.
MacKenzie Trainer (19:57)
came in 26th, Lisa Megargee
(20:08) was 29th, and four
more fi nished within fi ve sec-
onds of each other: Katie Jo
Gebhardt (20:21.6) in 33rd,
Ella Coughlan (20:22.8) in
34th, Molly Gulden (20:25.9)
in 36th, and Kendra Blake
