ISLAND CITY — Island
City City Council will meet at
7 p.m. Sept. 9 at Island City's
city hall. The upcoming cen-

Accident: Nobody was injured
in a traffi c accident near Gekeler
Lane and Aries Lane on Satur-
day. The accident was reported
at 4:38 p.m.
Cited: Delaney Hanon, 22,
unknown address and Albino G.
Flores Jr., 30, unknown address,
were cited on charges of fi rst-
degree trespassing.
Cited: Three Union County
juveniles were cited on charges
of second-degree trespassing.
Arrested: Jesse Wayne
Chandler, 25, unknown address,
was arrested by the Idaho State
Police on a Union County
warrant charging failure to
appear in court. The warrant was
connected to an original charge
of fi rst-degree theft.
Arrested: Jessica Emwalu,
30, La Grande, was arrested on
a charge of driving under the
infl uence on intoxicants.

OFFICE
Accident: At least one person
was injured in a traffi c accident
on Hunter Road Saturday. The
accident was reported at 4 p.m.
Arrested: William T. Mitchell,
28, unknown address, was ar-
rested on parole and probation
detainer.
Arrested: David Nathan
Albright, 62, unknown address,
was arrested on a Spokane
County warrant out of Wash-
ington state. The warrant was
connected to an original charge
of possession of a controlled
substance.
Accident: Nobody was injured
in a traffi c accident Friday at
Summerville Road and Myers
Road in the Imbler area. The ac-
cident was reported at 5:23 p.m.

eight calls for medical assistance
on Sunday, four on Saturday

LA GRANDE — On
Sept. 12, area seventh-grade
students will attend a cyber
safety conference at Eastern
Oregon University in La
Grande. That evening, a free
program will help empower
parents to be responsible for
their child’s technology, held
at the La Grande High School
Auditorium (use Second
Street door). Matt Bellace, a
clinical psychologist and come-
dian, will present “Supporting
Teens in Making Healthy
Choices” at 5:30 p.m., followed
by “Cyber-Bullying: A Parent’s
Guide” by Richard Wistocki,
a retired detective and High
Technology Child Crimes
Specialist with 30 years of ex-
perience in law enforcement.

Writing circle for
teens held at library
LA GRANDE — Cook
Memorial Library, 2006
Fourth St., La Grande will
host the next Teen Writing
Circle from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Sept. 12. Teen Writing Circle
is a place to exchange ideas,
brainstorm and get feed-
back from peers. Bring your
stories and writing ideas to
share. This free activity will
be held in the library’s Com-
munity Room and registra-
tion is not needed.

Ramona “Mona” Kay We-
ber, 77, of La Grande, died
Sept. 2 at Grande Ronde
Hospital. An open house
celebration of Mona’s life
will be held at 3 p.m. Sept.
10 at her residence. She
will be buried next to her
parents in Billings, Mon-
tana.
Known as Mona, she
was born Feb. 26, 1942, in
Turtle Lake, North Dakota,
to Reinhold and Martha
(Jose) Weber. She resided
in Turtle Lake, Hebron and
Casselton, North Dakota;
Billings, Montana; and La
Grande. Mona attended
schools in Casselton and
Billings and graduated in
1964 from Billings West
High School.
Mona was briefl y em-
ployed at Coburn School
Supply in Billings, Mon-
tana, following high school
graduation. She loved to
travel and enjoyed doing
large canvas stitchery. She
also loved animals and
little children. Mona was
a member of the Montana
Council on Developmental
Disabilities from 1999 to
2006.
Surviving relatives
include her sister and
brother-in-law, Nancy and
Gary Martin of Ukiah and
La Grande; sister-in-law,
Candyce Weber of Mis-
soula, Montana; nieces and
nephews, Gerald Weber,
Michael Weber, Amy Weber
Chaffi n, Laurel Martin
Horton and Katie Serido;
and three great-nieces and
-nephews.
She was preceded in
death by her parents, Rein-
hold and Martha; brother,
Ronald Weber; and niece,
Kamela Weber.

her husband and
daughter by her
side.
Linda was born
to Raymond Omo-
hundro and Juanita
Kirby Craig
Omohundro
November 11,
1956.
Linda grew up
in La Grande and
attended La Grande
High School, graduating in 1974. In 1975 she married Bob
Griffi n. They had two children, Michelle and Shane Griffi n.
Bob and Linda divorced in 1980.
In 1983 she met the love of her life and married Arden
Boydstun. When she married Arden she gained two more
children, Holly and Jamie Boydstun, who she loved as her
own. Arden and Linda were happily married until her pass-
ing.
Linda worked beside her mom at the Chuckwagon and
Mom’s Country Kitchen. She later worked at Rolly’s Tavern.
She also worked at the Snake River Correctional Institution
as the head cook. Later she was the AFLAC administrative
assistant and bookkeeper at Nature’s Pantry.
Linda enjoyed shopping, gardening, camping, boating,
riding horses, and most of all spending time with her family.
She loved the yearly river trips with her children and later
adding the grandchildren. She also went to many horse
shows with her mom and brother. During her years of riding
Peruvian horses she won many ribbons in showmanship. She
also enjoyed going to see her sister and spending time with
her.
Linda is survived by her husband Arden Boydstun of La
Grande; her daughter Michelle Griffi n (Shane McIntosh) of
La Grande; Jamie Boydstun, La Grande; and Holly Sanchez
of Colorado Springs. Her father Raymond Omohundro,
Summerville, and sister Gail Miller (Bruce) of Spokane, WA.
Her nine grandchildren:

Kaela, Samantha and Aaron Griffi n
Katelyn, Jaden and Riely Boydstun
Liam Sanchez
Linda was preceded in death by her son Shane Griffi n,
mother Juanita Omohundro, brother Lynn Omohundro, and
her grandmother Ada Craig.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
