La Grande, died May 11 at her

Thelma was
born July 4,
1931, in La
Grande, to Clar-
ence and Gladys
(True) Marquis. She was
raised in La Grande and grad-
uated from La Grande High
School. She married her one
and only love for more than
70 years, Richard M. Ansell.
Thelma was a loving and
devoted wife, mother, grand-
mother and great-grand-
mother. As one of Jehovah’s
Witnesses of more than 66
years, she enjoyed talking to
people about God’s word and
the hope of everlasting life in
perfect health on a perfect
earth. Thelma enjoyed learn-
ing about God’s word, sew-
ing, gardening, crocheting,
knitting and many more arts
and crafts, including sketch-
ing and painting.
Surviving relatives include
her daughters, Linda J. Al-
brecht and Diana S. Lantz,
both of La Grande; seven
grandchildren; and two great-
grandchildren.
