81, of Joseph, died April 1
at Wallowa Memorial Hos-
pital. A memo-
rial service will
be held at 2
p.m. April 13 at
the First Bap-
tist Church in
Enterprise. Interment will
follow the service at Joseph
Prairie Creek Cemetery.
Lois was born June 18,
1937, in Sidney, Iowa, to
Hubert and Alice (North-
cutt) Rosser. She attended
public schools in Sidney
and graduated in 1955.
Lois was also a graduate of
Colorado Women’s College
and received a bachelor’s
degree from Colorado State
University in Fort Collins.
Shortly after graduating
from CSU, she began a job
with the USDA as a home
demonstration agent in
Hugo, Colorado.
On June 7, 1959, Lois mar-
ried Donald Hough. Togeth-
er they started their careers
in farming and ranching
working in partnership with
Don’s dad in Parker, Colo-
rado. They later purchased
their own ranch in Eliza-
beth, Elbert County, Colo-
rado. Following her passion
for teaching, Lois taught el-
ementary school in Douglas
County, Colorado, for a few
years while also helping on
the home ranch.
Don and Lois moved to
Wallowa County in 1971,
purchasing a large ranch just
east of Joseph that is still in
operation today. She was a
full partner on the Hough
Ranch, assisting with all fac-
ets of cattle ranching, spend-
ing hours on the tractor
raking hay, keeping all the
business records and doing
payroll, and providing a lov-
ing and comfortable home.
Music was an important
part of Lois’ life. She was
a trained vocalist and pia-
nist. She was the organist at
the Enterprise Community
Church for many years and
most recently played the
organ at the First Baptist
Church in Enterprise. She
was a member of PEO, Red
Hat Society, First Baptist
Church and Oregon Cattle-
women’s Association.
Survivors include her
husband, Donald; brothers-
in-law, Vernon Hough and
Ken Hough; sisters-in-law,
Nadine Murray, Phyllis
Hough and Beth Hough;
nephews, John Murray and
Jason Hough; nieces, Sheri-
dan Hough, Kendall Hayes
and Kirsten Pennell; and
two grand-nephews and four
grand-nieces.
She was preceded in death
by her parents, Herbert and
Alice Rosser, and daughter,
Danna Sue Hough in 2006.
Memorial donations may

Kenneth was born July 15,
1968, in Tachikawa, Japan,
to Claude and Marlene (Bing-
ham) Kennedy. He resided
in Japan, Louisiana, Idaho,
Utah, Germany, Spain, Ala-
bama and Oregon. Kenneth
graduated from Malad High
School in Malad City, Idaho,
and later attended Treasure
Valley Community College
in Ontario and what is now
Eastern Oregon University
in La Grande. He married
Heidi Murie and they later
divorced.
Kenneth was employed
with Elkhorn Media Group
and Brent Clapp Media Ser-
vices. He enjoyed hunting,

He also enjoyed music and

Known as Tess, she was
born March 23, 1935, in Ch-
ula Vista, California, to Hen-
ry “Al” and Mabelle (Phinny)
Sanderson. She had two
sisters, Belvin Galjour and
Mabelle “Jo” Murphy. Tess
graduated from Mar Vista
High School in Imperial
Beach, California. She was
married to James “Willie”
Wallace.
Tess worked for Bank of
America. She enjoyed spend-
ing time with her children,
many grandchildren and
their children. When she was
able, she also enjoyed bowl-
ing, and she was a good cook.
Tess and Willie enjoyed their
home in Cove and Impe-
rial Beach, California, where
they frequently hosted fam-
ily gatherings.
