Throughout the 1980s and ’90s, it was sometimes Stan’s voice that could be heard advis- ing GTE customers that they had dialed a num- ber that was no longer in service or that they “must dial a one” when calling a number. Following his re- tirement from GTE, Stan worked as a courier for Interpath Laboratories in Pendleton, where he lived for 17 years before return- ing to Union County in 2018. Beginning when he was a boy growing up on the Up- per Willamette River, Stan was an avid outdoorsman ✔✎ ✛✚✫✎✩ ✑✚ ✒✏✗✪ ✎✏✣✎✙✕✢✛✛✤ in the Wallowa and Minam rivers and Jubilee Lake. Stan was a skilled hunter, preferring the Wenaha and Chesnimus areas for both deer and elk, also took meticulous care of his veg- etable gardens and land- scaping around his homes. Having also worked as a chef in his younger days, Stan was known by family members for his skills in the kitchen. Stan attended the Naza- rene churches in Elgin and Pendleton, and he drove the Elgin church’s Sunday school bus for many years. A memorial ser- vice was held March 30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Known to most as Lori, she was born Nov. 10, 1971, in Burns, to Lonie Anderson and Jackie Collinsworth. She was the oldest of her siblings: sisters, Cyna An- derson and Nomi Wet- ter, and brother, Matthew Boren. Lori was very involved in her childrens’ lives. Lori was a kind, driven and passionate woman in what- ever she did. She always did things with a full heart, the best intentions and a smile. She never did anything half- heartedly. She went back to college to get her bachelor’s degree and nothing could’ve stopped her from walking across the stage with her best friend, Amber. They made a plan and Lori stuck with it even though chemotherapy and radiation treatments were hard. She was inspirational and touched the lives of ev- eryone around her. Lori found pleasure in many things, especially spending time with her grandbabies and her fur ba- bies. Her great danes were her pride and joy, and she took them everywhere with her. She loved hiking and camping, making memories outside whenever possible. Lori loved the ocean and hunting for mushrooms and horseback riding, spending time with people and it was important to her to spend personal time with God.
