Children visiting the
Oregon Trail Interpretive
Center created pictures in
an unexpected way Mon-
day morning.
As part of a lesson about
petroglyphs, they learned
how ancient cultures
carved in rock to com-

about their lives.

petroglyphs,” Reynolds
told the group of young-

him. “They try to deter-

He provided a handout
sheet for students that ex-
plained: “Petroglyphs are
images created by remov-

The ancient communi-

some petroglyphs might
be of people from outer
space,” he said. “They
could be sacred people
that they depicted with en-

Reynolds encouraged
the students as they hud-

he said. “I’m seeing what
might be some stories.”
