Fleming Asking For More Control In Banning Foods WASHINGTON UPI Health Secretary Arthur S. Flemming Said that he will ask Congress to give him authority to move more swiftly in banning foods containing cancer-causing agents. He said he will also ask for power to permit the use of cancer causing chemicals in animal feeds if their use does not produce res idues io human food.,'. Flemming reported at a news conference that no traces of a pesticide have turned up in milk recently tested. In 1958. traces of the chemical were found in milk in 11 cities. : Flemming said the proposal to permit use of some cancer-producing chemicals in animal feed was aimed specifically at stilbestrol. This is a synthetic female hor mone which Flemming recently banned from use in poultry be-j cause it left a residue in chickens. ! - When the chemical is fed to beef cattle and sheep.
