A pantomime of the birth events of the Christ Child, will be shown, with narration by Larry Leddy and Irma Lindsay. Following the program there will be sacked treats for the chil dren. Lutherans Plan Special Services The annual children's Christmas service will be presented by the members of the Sunday School of Zion Lutheran Church this Sun day evening at 7 o'clock. The ser vice, entitled. "The LigU of Christ mas", will present the Christmas story in Tableau form, and will in clude recitations and singing of the familiar Christmas carols. The junior choir will also sing. The Sunday School children will bring an offering for oVphanages and similar institutions of the chur ch. They will also be given gifts and treats from the congregation. At this Sunday morning's ser vice beginning at 11 a.m., the Rev. E. W. The morning worship ser vice will be given to special music and the Christmas messaKe "Our Kinsnien Redeemer" by Pastor Murl Gassoway. At the evening service, 7:30. the Sunday school will be present ing .its annual Christmas program under the direction of Mrs. Meyer Lewis. Tne title of the presentat ion is "Christmas Wonders", with the cooperation of the various Sun day school departments. Treats will be given to all children pre sent. Graveside Rites Sst For Infant John Edward McMahan, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester G McMahan, I.a Grande, died in a local hospital Friday. Graveside services will be held in the Hillcrest cemetery, Monday 1.1 3 p.m. The Rev. Neat van Loon v ill officiate. The baby was born Dec. IS. in La Grande. MIMtER WESTERN Reception Honors Two Couples On Wedding Anniversaries The J. W. Fleet home on Cove Avenue was the setting lor two tnnivcrsary celebrations recently. Mr. and Mm. J. W. Fleet were honored on their Golden anniver sary and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Fleet on their Silver anniversary. Jim Fleet and Eva Botts were both born and raised near Flora, in Wallowa County. Thev were married at Enterprise on Dec. 9 1909. They are the patents of two sons, Duane and LorAi. They have three grandchildren, Bethel Wil son, Jimmie Jnd Carole Fleet, and one great granddaughter, Doneta Wilson. In 1943 they moved to a farm on Sandridge, between La Grande and Cove, later moving to their present home on Cove Avenue. Duane Fleet and Lila Shelton were both raised near Flora and liraduated hrj!rther from Flora fliuh School. They were also mar ried at Enterprise on Dec. 7, 1934. They have a daughter. Bethel Wil son, and a graddaughter, Doneta Wilson. In December of 1944 they move- ed to a ranch in Lower Cove, where they made their home until last December. -They now live one ;r.d a half miles south of Island City. At 7:30 o'clock Monday night Junior High School band A vocal croup will present a program in the junior high gymnasium, and at 7:30 o'clock Tuatday night the Grand Rond Symphony Orchestra will present a Fam ily Christmas Concert in the College the atre. Appearing in the symphony orches tra's concert for the first time in La Grand will be the Wallowa County Chorus. Admission to both concerts is fr.
