Elgin supporters feel the Huskies have a chance to walk away with the newly formed District 7 honors if they can get the all-around scoring ability that last year's tam possessed. Bob Showers (6-0). brother to Bill, is a sophomore making his first appearance in a Husky basketball uniform. ' Steve Terry -l, a junior, will be counted nn strongly to provide backboard strength and to give the regulars a breather. Tommy Hunt (6-1) up from the junior varsity last year will pro vide Schadewitz with more back board strength during the basket ball race. A pair of transfers will also be available for full time duty and provide the Elgin team with addi tional and unexpected strength. Larry Nelson 62 is a senior transfer student from Imbler where he played varsity ball. Fred Sayres (5-10) transfered to Elgin from Adrian where he per formed on the hardwood. Sayres has looked real good in practice rand may force the veterans on the squad to hustle if they plan to keep their jobs.- First game of the season will ' . ;. Jefferson of Portland will be shooting for its third successive A-l football championship Friday night in Portland's Multnomah stadium.
