Ar.d rousing good talk it was, loo. , George Bernard Shaw's high speed, high-penetraling comic romi, "Misalliance, was run on in a delicious style on CBS-TV by clever cast that consisted cf itobert Morely, Claire Bloom, Siouhaai McKeTiu. Hod Taylor, Kenneth llaigh, John Williams, Iscbel Klsom and last but by no means least, Hobert Casper as the "over-bred' Bentley. The twinkling epigrams poured some inconsistencies in the alti tudes of the lower classes toward the upper classes and vice versa. Stuffiness can be found in unex pected places, said Shaw, as he also paid his compliments, in passing, to such institutions as love, thf arts and law. Robert Stevens' direction pro vided a stimulating pace. He clicked it off as quickly as a Sgt. Bilko show highest praise for this sort of show when done ort I TV. At times the speed threw Morely for a loss, but neverthe less, his verbal blurrings were minor compared to the spirit he displayed for his part. Lloscups were superb and tne camera s movement heightened the airy at mosphere. I also enjoyed having brief scenes that led into com mercials repeated when the com mercials ended. It added a smooth flow to the production. Dialing and Filing: Why is it I hat the high spots on I'at Boone's ABC-TV half hour rarely find him among them? Thursday night's enjoyment came from a I Halloween costume ballet and i:ila Fitzgerald's singing. After a couple of solos, r.lla was cungea to join Pat in some songs. I know it's Pat's show and all that, but his sluggish voice has no business tackling a swinging melody when Klla's voice is in Ihc vicinity. Another ABC-TV half hour The Real McCoys, offered another easy-to-take yarn Thursday night about a phony talent scout and Walter Brcnnan's hostility to wards him. A neat switch was tacked on at the finale. But what cnjcy more than anything in this series are the faces in it. The closeups register superbly and each face is right for its role. Brigitte uaruoi nas called off a TV special being packaged by Screen Gems, an American TV packaging firm, be cause of impending motherhood and a stockpile of motion picture commitments. The word is that Tuesday Weld, precocious teenage glamor girl on CBS-TV's Dobie Gillis Show, will be dropped from the cast. Undecided About Job He was undecided whether to take a temporary job with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power or co-star in a TV pilot film with Robert Cummings. ; He decided finally to accept Cummings offer which led to five lucrative years on "The Bob Cummings Show." "I sort of fell into the role," he said. "There weren't many young comedians around at the time and they grabbed me. "Now I'm the luckiest actor" in town. I'm one of a kind. During my years with Bob playing his not-too-bright nephew t managed to study his comedy techniques. Only One Available "When they wanted someone to star in 'Dobie Gillis' I was the only guy around who could play leen-age comedy," Dwayne contin ued. "The rest of the young per formers were too busy copying Marlon Brando and wearing side burns. Dwaynes appearance is perfect for the role he plays, but he is determined not to die on the vine as a juvenile. "During the course of the ser ies I'm going to grow up and gradtate Lorn high school." he explained. "About tha third or fourth year of the program if it lasts that long they'll even mar ry me off."
