Miss Hill is a graduate of La

tended Eastern Oregon College
for two years. Skeen is also
a graduate of I lls, and will grad
uate from EOC next spring with
a degree in Math Science Edu
cation. The wedding date has been
set for the afternoon of Aug. 30.

The La Grande Country Club
women are planning a potluck
dinner tonight at 6:30, honoring
Mrs. Earl Chantry who is leaving
soon to make her home in Seattle.
The Club luncheon was attend
ed by 65 women and their guests
Wednesday. Committee for the
day was Mrs. Donald Ottcn, Mrs.
Boss Hearing, Mrs. Homer Lcf
fcl and Mrs. Archie Dunsmoor.
Arabella Turney of Philadel
phia, Pa., was guest of Mrs.
Martin Fitzgerald and Mrs. Rich
ard Gates was a guest from Ent
erprise. ,
Mrs. Donald Renipsry and
Mrs. Kenneth Chetwood were
welcomed as new members.
Winners at the afternoon
bridge were Mrs. Fred Kiddle
and Mrs. Martin Fitzgerald.

of the event, says plans are being
made for the food and entertainment.

Edward Herbert MacGregor,
49, of Island City, died Saturday.
He was caitle buyer at the local
yards.
The funeral will be held in
Daniels Funeral Home, Tuesday,
at 2 p.m. Minister officiating will
be L. E. Obert. Burial will be in
Island City.
Mr. MacGregor was born Aug. 9.
1909, and had lived in Union
County for 33 years. He was a
member of the FOE Aerie 259,
La Grande.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs.
Ellen MacGregor. Island City;
two sons. Jack MacGregor of La
Grande and Tom MacGregor of
Is'and city; one daughter, Mrs.
Barbara Lee Pabst, Clarkston.
Wash. Also two brothers. Charles
MacGregor of Los Angeles and
Willard MacGregor, La Grande;
six sisters, Mrs. Hannah Williams
and Mrs. Josephine Damon, La
Grande, and Mrs. May Vaughn.
Mrs. Aimec Parks and Edna David
son, all of Los Angeles: and Mrs.
Jessie Evans of Denver. Colo. Four
grandchildren and other relatives.

have a daughter born July 25 in
the St. Joseph Hospital. They have 1
named her Robin Gail and she
weighs seven pounds and 15 ounces.

Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Fihn have
as guest in their home for a few ,
days, her cousin, Virginia Ash
bridge of Eugene. She is also
visiting her great uncle. Chuck
Harrison.
Dr. J. Lynn Bishop, chairman of
the Music Department of Eastern
Oregon College, Mrs. Bishop and
Linda, returned to La Grande
following a workshop in California
and trips through the Southwest.
Dr. Bishop attended the music
educations portion of the Idyll
wylde, Arts Foundation Workshop.
The family then visited Yoscmite,
Sequoia, Bryce Canyon, Grand
Canyon and Zion parks and the
Centennial Exposition in Portland.
A workshop in music education
will be conducted by Dr. Bishop
during the last weeks of the Sum
mer Session.
The 1934 graduating class of La
Grande High School will meet
Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the small
ballroom of the Sacajawea. This
will be the last meeting before
the banquet and picnic set Aug. 1
and 2. Class members arc being
urged to attend.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Camp and
sons, David and Daniel, are visi
ting in Eastern Oregon from
their home in Ventura, Calif.
They plan to be here about two
weeks. They are staying in the
homes of Mrs. Wilma Camp and
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Perrinc.
The Junior Old Timers and
Auxiliary 24 will hold a potluck.

In Local Hospital

housewife of Summerville, died
this morning in a local, hospital.

Hold Picnic

ers' Club 17 and auxiliary held
their annual picnic Sunday at
Riverside Park. Fried chicken

dent of the Jr. Old Timers club,
AJ Ilolliday and his famly were
guests. Also attending were
Mrs. John McClay and her fam
ily of the Jr. Old Timers.
The club will not hold a meet
ing in August but express a de
sire to see all members out on
Srpt 11, at 8 p.m. in McAllister
hall. -
Annual Shakespearean
Festival At Ashland
ASHLAND UPI The annual
Shakespearean Festival opens
Tuesday in a new $275,000 theater
here.
Shows run through Sept. S. Of
ficials said advance ticket sales
were 60 per cent ahead of last
year.
The four plays which will be
presented this year are Anthony
and Cleopatra. King John, Twelfth
and Measure for Measure.
