Twenty-first annual conference of
the Union county ladies', aid of
the Methodist church was held In
Union Thursday. It was attend
ed by repiesentatives from Ali
celi Cove, Elglrt; Island City, Im
bkr, La Grande, North Powder
and Union. Registration started
early in t h e forenoon, during
which Mrs. Wayne Ferguson gave
a musical program. Reports of the
various societies gave n compie
hensive vie of the work accom
plished during the year. At noon
a potluck dinner was served at
t h e church. Afternoon session
convened ut 1:30 with Mrs. Che
ney presiding. Mis. O. A. Fortune
of Union gave the address of wel

gram designed to combat the Ori
ental fruit moth was announced
today by a fruit advisory com
mittee which met with state de
partment of agriculture and state
college experiment station offi
