UNCLE SAM HAD PLENTY UP HIS SLEEVE The atom, bomb
was far from being the only new weapon Uncle Sam had up his
sleeve at war's end, according to Gen, Henry H. Arnold, U. S. air
forces chief, who revealed a new superdoopor . bomber whose
range makes B-29 Superforls soem like something for a local
whistle-stop run , The new bomber, so far unnamed, could cover
all of Asia, the Pacific and Atlantic from bases now held by the
U. S. With range two-and-a-half to ihreo times the range of the r
B-29 shown In picto-map above,, ii could fly from Hawaii to the
China coast, complete a bombing mission and return to its base.
As shown al right, the supbr-super bomber could circle the earth
at the equator 2-1,902 miles in three hops.
