EXT. ARCHER GARDEN

Franklin garage toward the porch
where Corliss Is swinging on the
screen door.
COHI.ISS: (eagerly) la Mildred
there? .
Mildred emerges cautiously from
the Franklin garage. Corliss beck
ons to her.
CORLISS: Hi, Mildred. Come
on over. Coast's clear for about
20 minutes.

Mildred, with Dexter at her heels,
comes onto the porch.
DEXTER: (bitterly) and there,
if you please, in this drug store,
who do I see but Corliss and

the drug store with me having
a coke.

CORLISS: You've been warned
before that you're getting much
too big to slug me. I'm going
to tell Daddy, and he'll forbid
you to come to this house. Now
get out!

CORLISS: (Inexorably) I most

With a resigned, hopeless sigh,
Dexter disappears from sight. The
moment Mildred Is sure that hq
has permanently gone, she crosses
to Corliss eagerly.

Raymond grabs Mildred by the

RAYMOND: (Impatiently)
