Since 1871
the business that now bears
the name of
FITZGERALD'S
has operated in La Grande
FOUNDED in 1871 by Henry & Burke it continued under that name- until 1895 when
the entire, interests, were taken aver by J. C. Henry, who handled it alone until. 1903
when. Si EaiT acquired'an interest, and the firm became that of Henry & Carr. This
continued until 1916 wnen Mr. Carr took, over Mr. Henry's share and the business became'
known as- The Carr Furniture Company. Mr. Carr earned- on as sole- owner from them
until the late twenties when incorporation occured. In 1932 the Business was further
reorganized and passed into the hands of Ed Fitzgerald who today, with his brother,
Clark Fitzgerald, operate the business under the firm name of Fitzgerald' Furniture
Company. .

Our Dad, Dave Fitzgerald, with faith and
vision in- the- future of the then small La
Grande, located here and established the La
Grande Iron Works over 30 years ago. We
are proud, of the fact that we were born and'
raised in- this community proud of the
friends we have here and of this business
venture of our own in this community. , .
For we, too, have every faith in the future
