the 1034 Coast league pennant. One
week of play In the second half of
the split season split so the other
teams could start all even with the
Angels .and stay there found Lew
Angeles alone atop the league with a
record of six victories and one defeat.

GRASS FIRE ON
WEST O AVENUE
The fire truck was called to the
west end of O avenue at 5:35 o'clock
Sunday afternoon to extinguish a
grass fire. There was no damage. The
run was made on a silent call.

ed their foot-racing feud for the sea
son, with B1H the victor.
The famous Bonthron finishing
drive gave the Princeton ace his third
victory In five meetings with Cun
ningham and a new world record of
3:45.8 for 1,500 meters la the finals
Saturday of the senior A. A. U. cham
pionships. Huge Jack Torrance and Glen Har
din, the Louisiana State university
stars; and a pair of California high

ter Marty, shared Bonthron's glory.
