Agnes Tufverson. missing American
lawyer.

FRANK WHITNEY
DIES IN MAINE
Word has been received hero of the
recent death of Prank 8 Whitney at
his home at Bangor, Maine. Mr. Whit
ney was an old-time railroad engineer
and ran a train out of La Grande
short time after the arrival of the
railroad. For many years past he
held the position of master mechanic
on the Maine Central railway, with
headquarters at Bangor.
During recent years, he made sev
eral trips to visit, his .old, jfrlends In
the west and was arranging to attend
the semi-centennial celebration next
month. The fateful news of his de
mise is being received with deep re
gret by his former friends in the
railway service and by the old time
residents as well, among whom he was
held in high esteem.
