Eternal or everlasting life 1 not
merely living forever, because every
body, good and bad alike, at death
goes Into the spirit world, and lives
there to eternity.. Eternal life Is a
certain kind of life. It la the kind
of life that the Eternal Ood has. It
is the life of righteousness, wisdom
and love. Eternal life Is the life of
salvation from sin, salvation from the
Inclination to, and the practice of,
ovu. It Is the life of heaven, as dis
tinguished from the life of hell. The
life of tlie evil, whether here or here
after, is' not called life in the Scrip
tures, but death, ... ,-
Who has eternal life? He that be
lieves on the Lord Jesus Christ. How
do we believe on Him? Not simply
by confession that He once lived on
earth. Not by admiring Him as a
good and great reformer. Not by
simply believing that He suffered for
our sins, that He died on the cross
for us. Not by trusting Him. as an
advocate of our cause before the
Father. Not by venerating Him as
one of three divines called Father,
Son and Holy Spirit; but only 'by wor
shipping Him as the one and only
God,, who has "all power, in heaven
and on earth," who is the source of
all love, wisdom and goodness, who
is "the Way,-the Truth, and -tlie Life,"
and whose triple nature of Supreme
God, Perfect Man, and Saving Power
Is meant by Father, Son and Holy
Spirit,
