The body of James A. Bugg, . who
died unexpectedly In Portland Wed
nesday night while attending a con
vention of dealers of the tlttaburgh
Paint Co., was brought to" ti Grande
by motor hcarso arid now rests at
Walkers Funeral homo. .
Mr. Bugg'a funeral wlU be hold
Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the
chapel of Walkers Funeral Homo with
tho La Grande lodge of Elks and Rev.
Paul De F. Mortlmoro, of tho Christ
ian church, In charge of tho services.
Burial will be In tho family plot In
the Masonic cemetery. j , '
Mr. Bugg Is survived by his widow,
a son, George, of La Grande; his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Bugg,
of Stevens Store, Mo.; two; brothors,
Hulcn, of Columbia, Mp and Alonzo,
of Yale, Okla.
Mr. Bugg came to La Grande In
1D03 as a painting contractor, and
in 1025 opened the .Bugg Paint Co.
At the time of his passing he was
manager of tho Pittsburgh Paint Co.,
successors to the Bugg Paint Co. He
was a members of La Grande lodgo
No. 433 Benevolent and Protective
Order of Elks and of the Baptist
church of Missouri,

Movie, Lecture
Here Last Night
Three hundred and fifty people
attended a Iree lecture and movie
at the Sacajawea Inn last night on
skiing, given through the courtesy of
the W. H. Bohnenkamp Co. Harold
Lee, of the Portland Ski club, was
the speaker and gave an interesting
talk. , . .
Eight reels of pictures were shown,
including a reel devoted to skiing
tactics and another to ski Jumping.
Many of the pictures were of the
Mt. Hood territory, and were filmed
by Don Burkhart, one of the three
men killed on Mount Jefferson last
spring.
Book Chat Will
Be Held Jan. 11
At the Library
Another of the evenings of book
chats arranged by the La Orande
public library will be enjoyed Thurs
day afternon, Jan. 11, at 8 o'clock at
the library. A silver tea will bo ser
ved In connection with the program
and proceeds will be used to buy new
books for the library. A total of $30
already has been received for , new
editions through this source.
