the turbulent farm strike and revolt
against foreclosures that are right In

PORTLAND. Dec. 23 (AV-Advances
of 1 to 114c lb. In the price on cube
butter during the weekend session of
the Portland produce exchange, re
flected an acute shortage.
This was not due to any lock of
butter except In Portland. Floods
have Interfered with ' the movement
of the railroads and the trucks, mak
ing It almost impossible to secure
dally receipts of butterfat tram nor
mal supplying stations.
Inasmuch as there has recently
been a very keen demand for butter
both as a result of the approaching
Christmas and the lower prices pre
viously forced, floor stocks were prac
tically exhausted each day.
The price of butterfat advanced lc
lb. along with butter- cubes.
Rather good trading volume con
tinued for eggs with Increasing stocks
of fresh gooce.
