La Grande owes much of its progress and development to the
presence here of the Eastern Oregon Normal School. The growth
and expansion oft that institution wiU be reflected in turn in the
further, stabilization and progress of our city. In every way pos
sible it behooves the city and its citizenry to get behind and sup
port this institution which is growing up in its midst. Recognition
cf all forms of endeavor and advancement at this school, whether
it be progress upon the field of athletics the platform of oratorical
contest or. the everyday activities and conquests in educational
endeavor should be watched, followed and encouraged by all
of this community. This is "homecoming week" at 13. 0. N. the
time when scores of former students and ulumni return to show
and prove the continuance of their interest in the school they call
their alma mater. Let all who can of this community join with
them go to the game tomorrow; attend various other programs
of homecoming week to which the public is invited; show the stu
dents and alumni of this school the undivided-support of La Grande
is behind them. ,
