OOVE (Special) The Campflre
Girls scored a very decided eucceas
with -their three one-act plays given
at the Cove gym Saturday. The first
play was "Ghost Hunters," an amus
ing story of tour young people who
went ghout hunting and had several
thrilling experiences before the
ghost, a very material one, was cap
tured. ' The characters were Maxlne Love,
Velma Rtohards, -Charles Fisher and
Conrad Anderson as the four young
people, Olaudie Baker, the .policeman
on the beat and Logan Anderson Jr.

masters' club, at their monthly moot
ing Monday at Cove. Benny Hloks

Phyllis Hancock and Charles Fisher
representing the young couple for
whom the adventure ends romantic
ally, and Iva June Allen as the ser

The last play, "Aunt From Cali
fornia," showed the scheming of
throe sisters to impress a. visiting
aunt who would toko one of them
to Europe. Maxlne Towle as the
actress sister deserves credit for mak
ing this playlet the outstanding one
of the three, although all the cliar-

Parte In the last play were taken
by La Verne Houx, Iva June Allen
and Maxlne Towle as the three sis
ters, Stella Ed vols on the1 absent
mother, whose timely return clears
up a situation, which is mystifying
to all the characters; Velma Rich
ards, the seamstress who arrives at
the -wrong time; Phyllis Hancock as
the "Aunt From California" . and
Thelma Anderson, - the maid. MIbs
Anderson also directed the plays and
Conrad Anderson, Charles Fisher and
Claudle Baker were stage- managers.
Musical numbers before the plays'
and between acts were piano solos by
Mrs. Eugene Robinson, violin and
piano selections by Miss Mnellza
beth. Cooper of La Grande, and vo
cal selections by Lona Nelda Price
and J. R. Price.
