UNION PERSONALS
The Woman's club began their season-
meetings Thursday afternoon
with a report of the officers of last
year. Only a short program was given
witlv two vocal solos by Mrs. f. m.
Poote, who played her own accom
paniment. Pians were made-, for, the
Harvest Festival which will be the
feature of the meeting to be held
October 19th. The clubhouse will be
gaily decorated and exhibits of gar
den and! fruit products, antiques,
home arts work will be on display.
Ribbons" will be awarded' for1 best l
cakes, bread, rolls, Jams, jellies, etc.
The Girl Scouts are planning on
special exhibits. The clubhouse will
be open both afternoon and evening1
and program Is being arranged for the
afternoon.

to Medford where she hopes to locate,
last Wectoiesday. They plan to visit
Mrs. Mary Townley at Amity and Dr.
and Mrs. L. S. Davis at Tigard before
returning to Union.

Burns, made an inspection tour of the J
stock pens at the experiment station (

Mrs. Viola Parker left Saturday
with her nephew who was driving
through to Yakima from Payette and
will visit her brother at Yakima and
her daughter at Tacoma. v:
Miss Alice Cadwell was selected
superintendent of the Methodist Sun
day school, Sunday to succeed w. v.
Connor who for the past 12 years had
served in the capacity.
Rev. R. O. Lee is suffering from
an attack of shingles. He says his
pica for new shingles for the church
roof has been misplaced.
