the belief he would have n stronger,
gmootlier wurkhig team on the field
.tomoronv.
Also, lor the spectators, a third
unit of the bleacher section will be
ready for use Friday, allowing some
300 fans to watch the game from a
sitting-down position. -'
The squad Is In good condition. Cy
Crawford, Bpeedy halfback, was out
of practice awhile this week with a'
bad knee but will be In the starting
lineup. Tuck Hodgens bruised ribs,
received In scrimmage last week, have
recovered entirely, and his fullback
activities are likely to be more potent
than against Whltworth. . Petterson
and Burnett, halfback and quarter
back, respectively, are In the pink
and Qulnn Is relying on them for
a lot of work Friday particularly
from Pettcrson's kicking toe, and
. throwing arm.
The line which wasn't so ' hot
against Whltworth, Is clicking a bit
better this wek, charging faster and
the Individuals handling their as
signments more successfully. All of
the linesmen are In good physical
condition. A few Charley horses, etc.
have disappeared since Saturday.
All In all, Qulnn Is hopeful the
Mountaineer eleven will bo a much
Improved outfit against Lewiston.
On top of that, Qulnn learned to
day that Chrlss Lassen, 1033 full
back, will enroll Monday, which will
give him two top-notch Unecrushers.
Lassen Is a Pendleton boy and weighs
105 pounds.

CURIOUSLY, It Is the tornado and not the cyclone that has
given Kansas the name of cyclone state. It has long been a com

the Gonzaga overhead attack. Not
only will the Oregon State players
have to watch (the able- Peterson but

Besides devising a defense to stop
the vaunted Gonzaga passing attack,
Coach Stiner apparently will have to
uncover a great deal of offensive
power to score against the Bulldogs.
