Program For Neighborhood Club
Fall Flower Show' Here Saturday
Is Made Public Today
Judging of lawn In the annual fall
flower a how u being held today and
colored flags of red and blue will
designate those lawns that receive
the approbation oi the Judges, Mra.
Arnold L. Oralapp, chairman, an

of the features of the annual fall
llower ahow sponsored for the flower
raisers of La Grande and the valley
by the Neighborhood club.
The second feature of the show Is
the exhibit of cut flowers at the La
Grande hotel ball room on Saturday,

The doors will be open to the pub
lic at 3 o'clock In the afternoon and
again the evening. A program has
been arranged by Mrs. Floyd Sher
wood, chairman of the program com
mittee for both the afternoon and
evening. Miss Gloria Walker and
Miss Marian Chrtstenacn will tap
dance, Mrs. Leo Miller and Mrs. Myr
tle Russell will present vocal selec
tions, and Miss Mildred Green will
furnish musical readings. -

Plans Activities
A parish supper and a card party
were planned as two of the major
events of the program of St. Peter's
Episcopal Guild during September,
yesterday afternoon at a meeting at
Honan hall. Mrs. Laura Conkey, Mrs.
K. H. Russell, Mrs. George Birnle
and Mrs. H. N. Ashby were hostesses
and served refreshments.

PORTLAND, Sept. 7 W) Mike Ul
an owl tz, 42, a logger, after beating
his wife in an argument over $25,
shot and killed her, then turned the
weapon upon himself, inflicting a
fatal wound. Mrs. Ulanowitz died
shortly after foemg (received at a
local hospital. Until last Saturday he
had been employed by an Oetrander,
Wash., logging company. The couple
had been married ten years.
