prohibition enforcement employes of
the government today received offic
ial notification of dismissal effeotivo
at midnight tomorrow, under President-
Roosevelt's federal reorganiza
tion program abolishing tho bureau.
John 8. Hurley, expected to Head
tho prohibition unit of the new di
vision of Investigation being estab
lished in the Justice deportment, said
the order applied to all of the 1800
employes.
Some 1200 will ib reemployed Im
mediately to work in tho division of
investigation, Hurley saying thcrc,;
would be "no material change" In en
forcement activities..
Asked if the majority of: adminis
trators would be left oft the rolls.
Hurley replied "many" might be, and
that "material changes wili bo made
all along tho line In the Interests or
efficiency."
