gon 'is estimated to have more elk
within her boundaries than any other
western state except Wyoming. Wash
ington, Idaho and Montana nre near
neighbors which permit restricted
shooting of the animals.
Hunting of elk in Oregon is re
stricted to bulls having not less than
forked horns.
All of Baker county will be open
to shooting; Wallowa county north
of the base line and west of the
' Imnaha river; all of Union and Uma
'tllla counties except approximately
20,400' acres in the Conklin springs
area. The bag limit Is one bull elk
having two or more points on cither
horn. A resident elk tag will cost
, 92.50 In addition to the resident
hunting license; non-resident elk
tag, 900 in addition to non-resident
hunting license.
