LET CHILD'S MOUTH ,TOVS.
BE ; EXCLUSIVELY aJUS OWN
THESE IH!SY R-YEAH-OLOS!
SEE 'WHAT THEY CAN DO
'A 6-year-old. who has been wisely
handled should be able to dress and
undress himself without help, un
less, of course, his clothing hits es
pecially difficult fastenings. He can
wash himself, brush his teeth and
conib his hair. -He can lace his shoes,
. but probably cannot yet tie a bow
knot. And he hangs up his clothes
and puts his toys away.
Children should learn that for san
itary reasons mouth toys must not
be . passed from, one to another.
Whistles, trumpets, mouth organs,
bubble pipes should be ' used only
by the one to whom they belong. The
child should be taught this just as
he is taught the exclusive use of his
own tooth brush. If the rule ls:to
be observed with brothers and sisters,
it will bo necessary always to give
duplicate mouth ! toys 1 to each.

" Jasl! How long is his pace
going to last?" snld Duncy. "Gee,
this snail's so slow this is no fun
t all.
"I've yelled to it to glddyap. 1
think It's lost, now, in a nap. Tlio
only way we'll travel fast is just
to take a (all."
"Have patience, Duncy," Dotty
tried. "I know this is a funny
ride, but I knew this would Imp
pen. Every snail is very slow.
"We're foolish if we fuss and
fret. We'll have to take Just what
we get. And, anyway, we do not
know Just where we want to go."
fpHEN Shrimpy sold. "It was a
trick! Wee Duncy thought It
would he slick to ride, instead of
walk. He is a very lazy lad.
"I think, with this csperieence,
ke'll change his mind unless he's
sense. High! now. to take a nice
long walk, he really should be
Slad."
; The Tlnles then Slid to the
ground and suddenly they looked
around, as Scouly yelled, "Look
out! We've found a real good
way to ride.
"Just watch us as we whiz
right past. We've found a horse
that goes real fast. Unless you
want to get bumped, you had bet
tor run and hide."
"pon goodness sokes." said
Dotty, "They have slipped one
o'er on us today. Gee, Goldy's in
with Scouty and they're riding In
a shell.
"A seahorse Is hitched up in
the front. My goodness, what a
crazy stunt. I guess they both are
tickled 'cause they're sturtlng,
now, to yell."
Then Goldy cried. "Glddap!
Don't whoa! We're anxious to
keep on the go! We'll show the
other Tlnles what a real pood Tido
is like.
"This shell Is comfy as can be
and very much appcnls 10 me. As
long as I have this fine carriage,
I don't want to hike."
