Hutton To Sue
For a Divorce
Front Evangelist
LOS "ANGELES, July 17 (ff) The
marriage of Aimee Semple McPher-son-Hutton,
blonde evangelist of
Angelus Temple, and David Hutton,
portly singer, moved Into the divorce
courts today in a suit In which Hut
ton alleged he had heard that she
wished to sever marital ties with him.
Hutton 's complaint, filed after 22
months of wedded life, the last of
which were rife with rumors that all
was not well between the couple,
charged that before the evangelist
went abroad last January she let it
be known she wished to "eliminate"
him from the temple.
For some tlmo ofter Mrs. McPher-son-Hutton
sailecV to Europe, Hutton
was regarded publicly as the business
- manager of the religious edifice in
wllch the evangelist hud preached
her way to prominence. '
The complaint alleged that the
plaintiff had been "fired" from the
temple under orders from the defend
ant while she was In Europe.
