Leonard Cates
White characterized the wedding of
Miss Edna Cheney, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Homer Cheney of Union,
and-Leonard Cates, son of Mr. and
Mrs. a. c. Cates of Elgin, which was
solemnized at 0:30 o'clock last eve

Rev, W. H, Hertzog performed the I
ceremony.
Large baskets of white peonies,
columbine and mock orange decorated
the altar. - '
Miss Chenoy was lovely in a gown
of white organdy with taffeta girdle
and Jacket. 1 The dress was tiptoe
length and the skirt Was ruffled. She
carried a shower bouquet of rose buds.
Miss Dorothy Fronoh was bridesmaid
and wore a frock of pale blue flow
ered with gold with a gold lace yoke.
She carried an arm bouquet of white
peonies.
Eugene Cates was best man for his
brother.
Miss Jane Smith, of Union, sang
"I Love You Truly." Miss Helen For-
man played the wedding march from
,"Lonengrlri" and MfcndelsSohn's
"Wedding March" as the recessional.
During the ceremony she played ''To
a Wild Rose," by MacDowell, on the
pipe organ. ' -
Following the ceremony a reception
was held for the wedding party and
guests In the pavilion at Riverside
park.

home at Hot Lake where they are em-

Reports Heard
Reports of the grand chapter hold
recontly In Portland were rrmde last
night when the. Eastern Star met at
the Masonic hull for the last meet
ing of the season. Reports were
given by Mrs. Ella Russell, C. R. Eb
erhard, O. T. Cochran, E. R. Rlngo,
Mrs. Hazel .Graham and Mrs. J. K.
Wright. The latter, worthy matron
of the local chapter and delegate to
tho grand chapter, sent a written re
port since she Is "sojourning In Cali
fornia. Mrs. L. B. Moe presided last
night In her place
Following the presentation of re
ports, musical numbers were furnished
by Miss Frances Clark and Robert
Reuter, pianists, and Mrs. Floyd
enerwooa, yocanst. - '
Refreshments were served at a ta
ble decorated with cut flowers. Mrs.
Nellie Nelll and Mrs. Anna Bacon pre
sided at the table. .
